St Matthew 12:15-21

This little reading for today is a real corker. Matthew is telling us that Jesus, at this point in his ministry, was trying to avoid conflict with the religious authorities: the point being Jesus was the great encourager, not discourager.
He would not argue or brawl with the religious and he wouldn’t put down those who were struggling (the broken reed or wick). Quoting the prophet Isaiah we are told Jesus was not wanting to argue but to proclaim justice for those in need and the bring hope even to the Gentiles. A real positive this morning, don’t you think?
