Matthew 8:1-13

Healing stories but not just miracles of healing but restoration. This reading is in keeping with all the Readings since last Thursday through until today. When someone was ill they were separate from the community: yes, in most cases their families would support them but ultimately illness was seen as punishment for past sins. Jesus in bringing healing enabled these people to belong, not only to their families but also to the community. In God’s Kingdom all who trust in Him will be made whole. A great wee reading.
