Romans 8:26-27

Wee short reading for today but the subject should keep you going for the whole day.

This reading deals with the crucially important question of prayer.

How do we pray? What do we pray for? Are we capable of asking for the right thing in prayer? The child praying for the latest ‘must have’ toy is not prayer –just wishful thinking. How often are our prayers like that? Or do we, as the boy prayed, do a deal with God: “God give me that bike and I won’t pull Jenny’s pigtails again”? Prayer is difficult, but in this passage Paul is reassuring those who do not know what to pray, or despite our inability to ask for what is right for our spiritual and physical well-being, God will answer us because in those times the Holy Spirit leads us. Big topic very short reading.
