3rd John verses 9-12 (not the gospel of John, but Letters, just before the Book of Revelation)
John is aware that a very strong character Diotrephes is being very difficult in that he challenging John's authority and disallowing the local community to welcome the itinerant preachers (that were a feature of the early church) to share n the fellowship of the church. This man is presumably controlling and wants to be the top character in the community.
