Hebrews 3:1-6
In this passage the writer is dealing with the question those first Jewish Christians sometimes asked of themselves? Who is greater, Moses who was given the Law, by God Himself, or Jesus who is the Son of God?
The writer is telling them and us Moses was a great servant of God; he was way out in front of all God’s faithful servants and prophets but he was nowhere near Jesus who spoke for God, who revealed God’s love and compassion and who as God’s Son was united with God away above the prophets, the angels and even Moses himself.
The writer to the Hebrews is stating quite clearly there is no one greater than Jesus who is the high priest of our faith.
