Psalm 118:24
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it
It might seem odd that this should be the Thought for today but why not. This was one of the great celebratory psalms used in worship at the Temple.
Verse 22 of this psalm will be more familiar to you from its use in 1st Peter chapter 2 and in the passage following the Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem (Matt 21:42) where Jesus is teaching in the Temple.
The verse we want to consider is verse 24 because today is the Lord’s day despite everything let us give thanks to Him.
Look for the act of worship on our website today marking the entry into Jerusalem. Each day this week I will refer to the traditional readings for the days leading up to the crucifixion and then on Easter Day the story of the Resurrection
