1st Thessalonians 4
The passage today, all of chapter 4, deals with two aspects of living for the Thessalonians. The first is the need to behave morally in matters of sexual fidelity. Remember they were part of the Greek Empire and morality was to say the least lax if non-existent in places. They were to respect their wives, something that wasn’t necessary in the prevailing culture. Secondly they were not to hang about waiting for the Parousia (the Second coming of Christ) they were to get on with their lives doing the things that decent people do.
