Revelation 21:1-6
A new year, and many will say, ‘Thank goodness’. At this time of year we think a great deal about time as many look toward the countdown of the old and the beginning of the new. For many of us the new year brings the completion of that dreadful thing called Brexit, it brings a new cycle of the things we do which make up daily living and most of all, I believe, it brings hope.
On Christmas Day 1939, King George VI, father of our present Queen, read the words of a poem popularly entitled “The Gate of the Year”, the author called it “God knows”. The author was Minnie Louise Haskins. Some of you may have heard the broadcast. May I suggest you all read the poem. Just google it.
