1 - On of my favourite films is Calamity Jane. My daughter and I have watched it hundreds of times. I now watch it with my grand daughters when I visit Canada. We know the words to all the songs and can even play key roles. Connie who is 6 is very good at whistling! I would like to listen to this one on the desert Island because it would make me feel close to them.

2 - Over the years I have run 7 marathons. Berlin twice, Amsterdam twice, Chicago, New York and in 2018 London. I am doing no more! The Theme tune to Chariots of Fire will remind of these races. One time as I was training for London [in the freezing cold] running up and down the avenues. Tom drove passed me around 9:00 . When he came back at 12:00. I was still running! Click Here.
3 - The Water Boys Whole of the Moon CLICK HERE was released in 1983. I really like this song as it just gives me a good feeling when I hear it. I would like to feel good on a Desert Island.
4 - Graham and I met in 1988 and this tune seemed to be on the radio all the time. At my daughters wedding in 2010 unknown to me she asked the DJ not to play the Pet Shop Boys. As she was well aware of the consequences! Quite late on into the dancing, I asked them to play Heart and immediately the whole family were on the dance floor with the Bride in the middle. I will always remember it. Especially when Jennifer said - I wondered how long it would take you! The Pet Shop Boys - Heart CLICK HERE
5 - Usually on a Monday I start to search for the Castaway's music on Youtube. This means I come across things I normally would never find. I really like the forward thinking of this choir. I like how they have taken the lyrics and made them mean something to them. This song was recored over a year ago. I am now wondering if they will be doing a new version - Forth Valley NHS Nurses Choir CLICK HERE
6 - This song brings back memories of the Glasgow Garden Festival in 1988. Its by Fleetwood Mac. The weather was just great and I was in love!

My Favourite Book is A Scots Quair. I read this when I was 14 and it taught me a few things. I would like to think I could survive on a Desert Island. However I am not going to take this book with me. I am going to take "The New Biographical Dictionary of Scottish Women". This was published in 2018. I will have time to read it and learn new things all about amazing Scottish women. With over 100 days into lockdown I am now picking it up!
My Luxury Item would have to be an easy flying kite. I have loved flying a kit since childhood. My father would make me one every summer with doweling, brown paper and string. The tail was the daily record news paper cut into bows. I have yet to find the perfect kite to fly and I have tried hard!
I would have plenty of time to practice kite flying tricks on a desert Island and someone in a boat or plane might see it high in the sky, or on a very windy day, pick me up and fly me somewhere else!
