Update from Susan 3/5/22 ⬇
It has been good working in the area and getting to know people. If I have not met, you yet please come and say hello. During the lockdown I spent a lot of time doing a community map and familiarising myself with the area.  As the lock down restrictions started to lift there was more things I could do in the area, and this has been good.  I have been going into Mosspark primary once a week and going into the classes to talk to the children. This is defiantly the highlight of my week. The children have been brilliant so well behaved and listening so well. I have been telling the easter story and the questions I have been asked are amazing. Like why is their holes in Jesus hands? What did the other men on the crosses do?  What is a bible? Is the tomb still there today? One wee boy in primary one asked very earnestly “where did Jesus get his shirt?” To that question I had to answer, “er I don’t know.” One wee girl then said, “his mummy bought him it.” What a brilliant answer!
Hopefully soon there will be a messy church starting up in Mosspark. It would be wonderful if some of the children from the school could come to messy church and bring their parents or careers. If you know of any opportunities in the Mosspark area I could be involved in, please let me know. If you are interested in volunteering with messy church please also let me know.

Susan

Hi,
My name is Susan Graham and I am delighted to be your new church and community outreach worker. I have gone to church most of my life and in my mid-teens I decided that I wanted to follow Jesus and was baptised and became a church member. On leaving school I went to the Bible Training Institute in Glasgow and there I met my husband Jim.

On leaving bible college I worked with Child Evangelism Fellowship for 19 years. I have also worked with Faith in Community Scotland as local coordinator for Faith in throughcare supporting short term prisoners on their release from prison to reintegrate into the community.

I have been married now for almost 36 years (Jim deserves a medal). I have three adult children and two grandchildren. I also have two beautiful Jack Russel’s that love taking me for walks

I am looking forward to meeting everyone in Sherbrooke and Mosspark Parish church and working alongside you.
