I was rather wary of joining the church WhatsApp group but with encouragement from Mags I took the big step and I love it! What better way to start the day other than with a message from Tom. I always read my Bible early morning and late at night but I usually work my way through a particular Book in the Bible or the Psalms. Now in the morning I read Tom’s chosen reading, think about it throughout the day and at night reread it and it has become more meaningful. With Tom’s readings too I have been taken through different Books written at the same time of Jesus’s journey and ones before and ones after his crucifixion . It gives a far better and deeper understanding.
Also I have enjoyed sharing in the news of Jack and Anne Steele’s grand daughter, the birth on 21st April of the Normand’s Grandson, laughing at funny video clips , listening to beautiful music and hearing of radio or tv programmes that I might enjoy. It is wonderful to be linked so instantaneously with everyone. It is also a good link in to remind me of articles and quizzes that are on our church website.
So I think we still have a long time ahead indoors but I am enjoying each day. I go to bed at night knowing that there is another groundhog day ahead – nothing changing, and that brings a rather peaceful feeling. I am enjoying being with John. Our daily lives are usually like passing ships. I can’t do anything about the Coronovirus, I can’t help my girls down South, I can’t meet up with friends or family, but I can pray and commune with God. We have been given this very special time and I am using it to walk more closely with him.
