A local country walk that may be of interest.
Last Saturday, a very sunny day, Margaret and I returned to a walk which we have done many a time however this was the first time since I had a hip replacement back in July. It is a 3 mile circular walk out at Thorntonhall on a narrow up and down but generally quiet country road.
The route we take to the start point is the B767 Eaglesham Road and at Waterfoot take a sharp left into Waterfoot Row, a very narrow road between a new high wall and a white washed farm building. After proceeding up this narrow twisty road we then take first right and find somewhere to park the car. We usually proceed to the top and park at the side of a small copse opposite a portacabin where 'boy's' fly there toys. From there we walk forward always keeping left and return to the car just over an hour later. From here we drive forward to Peel Road, which we previously walked up for a short distance however when turning left we drive straight through Thorntonhall then turn left onto the A727 and head back home. The walk of course can be done in the opposite direction by always turning right. On a clear day you get a good view of Whitelees Wind Farm, Hamilton.Cathkin Braes, Glasgow etc.
Enjoying, George and Margaret
