At this time of year, when the trees are coming into full leaf , and The blossom trees are in full flower, when the cream and pink petals lie thick upon the ground , I thought I would share a little poem which might make you smile as you and the children kick their way through them.
Ewan Love
In the Chestnut woods
Someone has a birthday
In the chestnut woods, I think
For all the chestnut trees are gay
With candles pink and white.
I thought it was a christening
of some small Brownie child
But when I asked the keeper man
He shook his head and smiled
He shook his head, he did, and so
I rather think myself
It may have been the wedding
of a Fairy and an Elf.
A fairy wedding in the woods -
I,m pretty sure I,m right
For underneath the trees I found
Confetti pink and white
